A lesson is a time for discovery when the teacher is acting as facilitator and guide by using her hands and words to guide the pupil in a new way through everyday movements. This could include bending, sitting, standing. walking, raising arms or anything else which may be useful to that particular person. Some of the lesson may involve lying on a massage table which aids release of undue tension and develops awareness.

Together the teacher and pupil will discover any habits which are not useful and use the Technique to change them. Gradually pupils will learn how to use the Technique for themselves and incorporate it into their lives for continuous development and increasing balance and ease.
Since pupils are learning to help themselves to change unwanted or harmful habits, lessons are experienced as empowering and confidence giving.
The number of lessons recommended very much depends on the individual. A general guide is that a course of 6 lessons gives a good idea of what the Technique is and whether it is for you and 20 to 35 lessons helps to really incorporate it in your life.
